Dr. Asif Mahmood Raises Almost $1.4 Million in the Third Quarter to Defeat Rep. Young Kim and Flip CA-40

Oct 14, 2022

TUSTIN — Today, Dr. Mahmood’s campaign announced that it has raised almost $1.4 Million this quarter in the race to defeat Representative Young Kim and flip CA-40. This comes after poll results showed Mahmood in a very competitive position to unseat Congresswoman Kim.

The sum– spread across both the Dr. Asif Mahmood for Congress account and the Dr. Asif Mahmood Victory Fund– positions Mahmood as one of the strongest fundraisers in the country.

“Young Kim does not represent the values of this district– she supports a national abortion ban, has voted against access to birth control, and against capping insulin cost,” said Dr. Mahmood. “She’s an extremist politician, while Southern California voters are looking for a common sense problem solver. I’m grateful for every person who donated to our campaign, believes in our message, and is committed to making sure that come November 8th, we will have a champion for the people of CA-40 in Washington.”

Kim’s record stands in stark contrast to Dr. Mahmoood’s service to the community. Dr. Mahmood has treated thousands of patients over the last twenty years: patients in the ER, critical care, inpatients, and as they leave the hospital.  Asif has made it a rule in his practice — if a patient doesn’t have insurance, his office won’t ask for payment.
