TUSTIN — Today, U.S. Senator Cory Booker endorsed Dr. Asif Mahmood today in his Congressional campaign.
“I am thrilled to endorse my friend, Dr. Mahmood,” said Booker. “He is running for Congress, and I’m telling you right now, we need him– someone of character, someone of incredible competence, someone with a medical background who’s actually practicing medicine. Someone who can help address everything from making healthcare more affordable to helping the wellbeing of our country. He is somebody that I believe in, he is somebody that admire, and even though he’s an inch or two shorter than me, I look up to this giant in my life. Thank you, Dr. Mahmood, for running.”
Mahmood has been an advocate for Southern Californian families for decades. As a practicing physician, he knows firsthand the daily struggles many people face, especially surrounding affordable healthcare. In his office, if someone doesn’t have insurance, he doesn’t ask for payment.
