Governor Newsom calls Mahmood a “problem solver” and a leader who “puts helping people at the center of everything he does.”
Dr. Mahmood announced earlier this week he has raised $1 million during his first month in the race.
TUSTIN — Governor Gavin Newsom endorsed Asif Mahmood today in the CA-40 race against incumbent Congresswoman Young Kim.
“Dr. Mahmood is a problem-solver – a leader who puts helping people at the center of everything he does,” said Newsom. “As a physician, he has helped thousands of patients and their families overcome health challenges. I have seen first-hand his commitment to our state as a civic leader. He is exactly the kind of results-oriented leader we need more of in Congress.”
Dr. Mahmood has treated thousands of patients over the last twenty years: ER patients, critical care patients, and inpatients. Asif has made it a rule in his practice — if someone is without insurance, his office won’t ask for payment.
