TUSTIN — Dr. Asif Mahmood, who launched his campaign to unseat Congresswoman Young Kim in CA-40 on Thursday, announced he has raised $250,000 in his first weekend in the race.
“I am humbled by the outpouring of support our campaign has received,” said Dr. Mahmood. “Families in the 40th district want leaders in Washington who will actually work to solve problems and make life better here in Orange County. They aren’t getting that kind of leadership from Congresswoman Kim.”
Dr. Mahmood, a physician with more than twenty years of experience treating patients in Southern California, entered the race last week with strong support from local, state and federal leaders. They include:
Rep. Mike Levin
Rep. Tony Cardenas
Rep. Brad Sherman
Rep. Norma Torres
Rep. Judy Chu
Rep. Ted Lieu
Rep. Jim Costa
Rep. Jimmy Gomez
Rep. Karen Bass
Rep. Ro Khanna
Rep. Alan Lowenthal
